The idea behind ANGELS THAT CARE... is and should never be one person.... it's a group effort fulfilled by the entire group...
We tend to lose focus sometimes on 'gratitude and love' for one...
while losing the focus on what brought us all together in the first place... the children..
Angels That Care is about children.... Children, men and women who are being abused by the thousands... moment by moment of every day.
Children, men and women who are kidnapped, lost, alone and afraid... families who ache for that one phone call... that will mean; to them... the difference between eternal peace.... or a lifetime of pain.
I'm sure Marcia is very pleased inwardly at the auspicious tribute
given to her... but let us all return to the daily tasks of what Angels That Care is all about saving that one life... that just might make a difference in this world

The stories we hear are so sad -- the abuse so horrendous -- that it would be easy to fall into a funk and stay there. If we do that, we won't be able to help anyone. We have to work to keep ourselves emotionally and psychologically fit. Not that it is easy. Especially for those of us who grew up in bad 'homes.' One thing that helps me is to look at history. If you go back to the beginning, you discover that it is the fight to halt abuse that is new. The level of abuse that was not only tolerated but in many cases encouraged in country after country was u n s p e a k a b l e.
Bad as things look, we have made progress. By keeping ourselves on as even a keel as possible, we will make m o r e of a difference. HAVE to!
Children are the hope of the future, bless their hearts. They need to grow up in families where respect and compassion are the rule, not the exception. As for the abuse of adults, like our minds and bodies, it cannot be separated. In a very real sense, we are all One.
Let's dedicate ourselves to renewing -- and stengthening -- our efforts to see that our society provides the kinds of opportunities and support that encourage health in the broadest sense. E n a b l e s it's members to take time and be in a frame of mind -- yes, and heart and soul -- to act gently, and comfortingly,.. and in the best interests of us all. Peace, 'Pea'
